IAAM Somebody Film Series: I Am Somebody
As part of the International African American Museum’s (IAAM) IAAM Somebody Film Series, we invite you to join us for a screening in our theater of I Am Somebody [Integration Report 1 only]. The IAAM Somebody Film Series showcases films that highlight themes and topics related to African American history.
Ticket purchases include complimentary popcorn, refreshments, and snacks.
Film Synopsis:
In 1969, 400 poorly paid black women working in a hospital in Charleston, South Carolina, went on strike to demand union recognition and a wage increase, only to find themselves confronting the National Guard and the state government.
