For the Culture Symposium

Join us for an afternoon exploring IAAM’s 2026 theme, Soul(Food) of Freedom. From the culinary histories and traditions that have sustained generations to an important conversation about history, ownership, memory, and cultural stewardship.
The afternoon will feature a special panel conversation bringing together descendants to explore the repatriation of historic daguerreotypes, the return of these historic images to descendant communities, and what it means for the descendants, institutions, and communities connected to their histories.
Guests will also enjoy refreshments, live entertainment, and a vendor fair, with an exclusive VIP Meet & Greet and book signing following the symposium.
