The International African American Museum’s "Night at the Museum" is a signature membership initiative series designed to bring the museum to life after dark. Each edition offers a unique, immersive experience that transforms IAAM’s galleries into living stories through art, performance, and community connection.
On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, join us for Night at the Museum: Land & Liberation – an evening that will explore food sovereignty, land stewardship, and ancestral growing traditions.
This NATM edition highlights our African Ancestors Memorial Garden and integrate together local Black farmers, florists, herbalists, beekeepers, and a vineyard through a nighttime farmers market.
Featuring libations inspired by West African botanicals by the Cocktail Bandits, a soulful, curated playlist by DJ Nor_Way, and a keynote by Dr. Alison H. Kibbe, Assistant Professor of College of Charleston's African American Studies, guests will experience the impact of the Soul(Food) of Freedom.
Enjoy authentic Gullah Geechee cuisine, one complimentary beverage, and a night of land, resistance, and legacy.
