Jammin Journeys Feat. Ghanaian Drums & Dance with Eric Amoquandoh
Music provides the opportunity to learn about new cultures, think critically, and express ideas creatively. Through the Jammin Journeys program, youth and families are invited to join us as we explore musical selections, instruments, and techniques from across the Global African Diaspora. Including both a performance and workshop, the program educates participants on diverse music styles and genres while also providing a space for music exploration, listening, and fun!
Traditional Ghanaian drumming and dancing tell a story and shows the heart of its people through each song and movement. As an educator born and raised in Ghana, Eric Amoquandoh has spent years honing his craft as a dancer and drummer, interweaving storytelling into his practice for all to enjoy. Join us on Saturday, March 2 for Jammin Journeys Feat. Ghanaian Drums & Dance with Eric Amoquandoh as we explore West African rhythms and dances. Participants will participate in an interactive drum and dance experience while learning about West African music culture.
