J.O.Y | Juneteenth on the Yard

Celebrate Juneteenth 2024 with us at the International African American Museum for "J.O.Y. | Juneteenth on the Yard, in the beautiful African Ancestors Memorial Garden. Thanks to the generous support of Boeing, the Museum will offer complimentary admission all day!

Starting at noon, enjoy:

  • Engaging storytelling sessions throughout the Garden
  • Delicious food and tasty treats
  • Musicgamesactivities, and more!

Gather with friends, family, and neighbors to embrace the joy of community within the African American experience. Enjoy performances by our Griot (storyteller) Julian Gooding, Deninufay African Dance & Drum Company, and DJ Ruben.

The afternoon will culminate with performances by:

  • SunRhe'
  • Benny Starr, accompanied by the Poor Rich Kollective

Tour the Museum: Walk-ups are welcome, but registration is preferred to guarantee your timed admission on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Reserve your spot here. (Walkups will be accepted based on Museum capacity).
